The World Test Championship, is at its business end of the tournament with the last cycle just 15 days away. Three series are to be played in this cycle, with the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting at February, and ending with South Africa’s home tour of West Indies .

Possible Percentage(Maximum and Minimum).

After all the intense competition among 8 sides, with a lot of away test upsets and BazBall being the new mantra for England, 4 teams are in possible contention, with India, Australia and Sri Lanka with a genuine chance, and South Africa with the narrowest of chances. The below are the possible scenarios of who will play the finals.

INDIA WINNING THE SERIES:

If India wins the series, the efforts of South Africa won’t really matter, but for Sri Lanka, they sniff of a slight chance if India wins the series and not all the matches. Sri Lanka, in this scenario, needs to win their last two matches for results to go in their favour.

Scenarios if India win.

INDIA DRAWING THE SERIES:

If India draws the series against Australia, South Africa sniff a slight chance, for which they have to win their scheduled matches against the Men in Maroon. Sri Lanka too have a chance if they win the series, either by 1–0 or 2–0.

Scenarios if Series is Drawn.

INDIA LOSING THE SERIES:

If India loses the series against Australia, South Africa can still feel they have a slight chance, but they still have to win 2–0 against West Indies, while Sri Lanka need to win, either by 1–0 or 2–0 against the White Ferns.

If India loses by 2–0 or more, they will be out of the competition.

Scenarios if India lose.

Overall, a cracking two months of test cricket awaits us with Australia on the back of winning in Pakistan and drawing in Sri Lanka, and they would like to beat India in their own backyard, which they last lost in 2012, while Sri Lanka and South Africa do their duty and hope the other results go their way.
